Pedernales RIver

  • All along the Pedernales River are prime spots to take a dip in the delightful cool water, or just post up in a lawn chair with a local brew in hand. For public access, swim at either the State Park, Pedernales Falls or at Reimers Ranch, a Travis County Park.
  • Visitors are recommended to make reservations online when visiting Pedernales Falls State Park. No reservations are required to enter Reimers Ranch, but make sure to check their website for capacity limits.
  • The easy going Pedernales river is cool, clear and a great destination for an afternoon swim with the family.


Camp Ben McCulloch

  • Located off 1826 across the street from the world-famous Salt Lick BBQ is Camp Ben McCulloch and flowing through Camp Ben is Onion Creek. This spring fed, crisp and clean little creek flows particularly well after a spring rain and is a popular destination for local folks. Hop in a tube or sit back and watch kids fly off the rope swing and enjoy the delicious smells wafting from across the road at the best little BBQ joint in Texas. After your swim, pick up some delicious BBQ ribs, sausage, and sides or a bottle of wine from nearby wineries like Salt Lick Cellars or Fall Creek Vineyards.

Founders Memorial Park & Pool

  • Head to Founders Memorial Park for summer fun in Dripping Springs. Located on the park grounds is a walking trail, the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead (opening in Fall 2023), a massive playscape and the Founders Memorial Pool. Founders Memorial Pool will open Memorial Day Weekend!

Camp lucy resort pool pass - BACK WITH A SPLASH!

  • The Camp Lucy pool day passes are back beginning Monday, March 8th! Relax by the pool and enjoy your favorite Tillie's cocktails every Sunday-Thursday beginning at 12pm. Availability is limited, and reservations are required. Please call Tillie's at 512-894-2633 to make your reservation.
  • Please note: Day passes are available for guests 18+. No children will be allowed. $50/person entry fee to be applied in its entirety as a @tilliescamplucy food and beverage credit. Outside food, alcohol coolers, and/or personal floats are not allowed at the pool area.

Many Dripping Springs and Driftwood wineries, breweries, and distilleries even have restaurants or foodtrucks on their grounds so you can enjoy a delicious bite while sipping on a glass or pint.

Tour the Best Olive Orchard in the Austin Area

A visit to the Hill Country Olive Company and a tour through their olive orchard will have you feeling like you’re on a Tuscan vacation. Stop by the amazing gift shop, eat a bite at their delicious bistro, sample a glass of wine and make sure to snag one of their tasty olive oil cookies.

Texas Hill Country Olive is hosting two tours this summer:
  • The orchard walking tour is a guided exploration of the 15 acres they farm in Dripping Springs, TX. You will visit different varieties of olive trees grown on-site as you learn about planting and harvesting practices. The tour will make a quick stop by the chicken coup and the farm-to-table garden before returning to the tasting room.
  • The Texas olive oil mill tour is a guided review of their Italian olive press, current milling practices & an educational overview of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The Tour will discuss what makes an olive oil Extra Virgin, how it's different from Virgin Olive Oil, how to store your oil, and keep it fresh as long as possible.

  • Dreamland is a destination where everyone will have fun. Activities on-site include miniature golf, covered pickleball courts, a splash pad, and live music on the weekends. Plus they have a variety of food trucks that serve up something for everyone's palate, and a full bar for the grownups.

Take a Tour at Westcave Preserve

  • Learn something new about the ecosystem in your backyard at Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center. Take a guided tour down to the exceptionally beautiful grotto, explore the nearby cave and take in the serene beauty beneath the ancient Bald Cypress trees. Guided tours must be booked online and do fill up fast so book your tour as soon as possible!

Enjoy Interactive Fun for the Kids and Delicious Food at Route 12

  • Go for the burger and stay for the splash pad at Route 12 Filling Station. The splash pad is fairly large and there is also a playscape adjacent to the water feature. Find family friendly fare on the menu, plenty of outdoor seating (great for social distanced fun), and fun in the sun for all ages!

Nothing says Summer in Texas quite like a massive firework display for the fourth of July. Lucky for you, Dripping Springs puts on an incredible, and fun Independence Day event!


Fire in the Sky

Fire in the Sky is a free annual Independence Day professional firework show at the Hog Heaven on Ranch Road 12 South. Pack up the whole family for an incredible evening of fireworks display that begins at dark-ish on Saturday, July 3rd.
