Host a Welcome Party
If most of your wedding guests are out-of-towners, or if they're just people you haven't seen in a while, a welcome party is a great way to greet everyone in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere. Considering hosting the Welcome Party at one of the 35+ wineries, breweries, or distilleries or tasting rooms in the Dripping Springs area. Many of the local watering holes can either be rented for a private party, or they have enough space so that you feel like you have the whole place to yourselves. Plus, many wineries, breweries, and distilleries in the Dripping Springs area are family-friendly, have live music on the weekends, and even have playscapes to keep the kiddos occupied.
The welcome party should stay lighthearted and be all about hanging out and having fun, plus choosing a local winery, brewery, or distillery allows guests to get a feel for the local flavor and flair!
The welcome party is also a good place to hand out weekend itineraries (or tuck them into your welcome bags, if you choose to have them) and brief guests on anything they'll need to know for the next few days. A great addition to welcome bags is the Destination Dripping Springs Visitor’s Guide that is chock-full of attractions, things to do, and local restaurants! You can find the Visitor’s Guide at various locations around town, or you can pick up as many as you need for your welcome bags at the Visitors Bureau office.
