Celebrate Fall in the Texas Hill Country!

Autumn, a beloved season full of crisp temperatures, hot cider, campfires, and vivid foliage dotting the hilly landscape. There’s lots of autumnal fun to be had in the Dripping Springs area including seasonal activities like pumpkin patches, festivals and amazing outdoor adventures in the scenic Texas Hill Country.

It’s the Perfect Time to Explore the Great Outdoors!

Fall is the perfect time to soak in natural panoramas, as the various shades of orange, yellow, and reds only enhance the experience. Hiking, biking, birding, or just a casual walk at an area park are all possibilities in Dripping Springs during this time of the year. Popular scenic destinations in Dripping Springs like Hamilton Pool, Pedernales Falls State Park, and Westcave Preserve do require reservations and must be made online beforehand.

TAKE PART IN THE DRIPPING SPRINGS PUMPKIN FEST!

Dripping Springs Pumpkin Fest is a kids-focused, family-friendly event hosted at the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead, a beautiful, 5-acre rustic property with majestic Heritage Oak trees. Bring out the family and enjoy a wide range of fall-inspired games, activities, and attractions. Be sure to bring your camera, because there are plenty of photo ops all over the property. DSPF is taking place from September 24th - October 31st.

VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH in Dripping springs

A stroll through a pumpkin patch is an annual family tradition and there’s a handful of patches in and around Dripping Springs.


Hamilton Pool Vineyards, Dripping Springs United Methodist Church and the Dripping Springs Pumpkin Festival are hosting pumpkin patches where you’ll find pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes!

Visit a winery

Celebrate Texas Wine Month in Dripping Springs this October. Enjoy an afternoon on a winery patio encompassed by the grape vines (which also will be changing colors!) surrounded by the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. The more than 12 wineries and tasting rooms, and the fall foliage provide the perfect backdrop for sipping a glass of fine Texas wine.

Attend a Fall event in Dripping Springs, TX

One of the most highly anticipated events taking place this fall is the 8th annual Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival, October 14-16, 2022 in downtown Dripping Springs. The Festival offers music lovers the up-close and personal chance to see, hear and get to know some very talented performers who have a deep passion for the art of songwriting.

45+ extremely talented songwriters, coming from two countries and twelve states, will play “in-the-round”, Nashville-style, on eight intimate stages located at The Barber Shop, Mazama Coffee Co., Acopon Brewing, Sidecar Tasting Room, Hudson’s on Mercer Street, Dog ‘N’ Bone, Haus of Jayne and the courtyard at The Warehouse District. The majority of the stages are outdoor and open-air, and all are within a safe, easy walking distance of each other in the quaint Historic Districts of downtown Dripping Springs. DSSF

  • Foxtberfest - September 24th weekend at 12 Fox Beer Co - Food, beer, Polka! Join us at our 4th Annual Foxtoberfest (Oktoberfest) Celebration! This year enjoy a full weekend featuring themed fare from local food truck favorites along with live polka music, competitive games (Sat & Sun), seasonal snacks, and their special release of Foxtoberfest beer!   • Hill Country Harvest Market - October 8-9th at Dripping Springs Ranch Park - The HCHM is back for the 10th annual show with a great selection of unique and unusual items! Harvest Market
  • Painting with Goats and Mini Pigs (and pumpkins) at Fitzhugh Brewing - Come paint a pumpkin and enjoy the antics of baby goats and mini pigs as they bounce around your tables. We will provide the pumpkin, painting supplies, and animals. Fitzhugh Events
  • Autumn Audio at Jester King Inn - every Sunday at 3pm from September 11th through October 16th, an intimate concert series under the breezy live oaks. Delicious food & drink from Jester King Brewery & Kitchen will be available for purchase at the Inn. Autumn Audio
