Memorial Day 4 Mile Ruck Walk Fundraiser

Date: May 29, 2023
Time: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Location(s):
Category(s):
RUCK UP to support Special Forces Families and DSISD Athletics!
ruck:

noun informal-US. a rucksack. "I barely had enough time to pack my ruck."

verb informal-US. to travel a distance on foot with a rucksack. "Its time to sign up for Ruck Up For The Regiment - Dripping Springs and go ruck with friends and family for a good cause."

THE HISTORY:

Team Crabtree began this journey in 2021 with a handful of Green Berets, complemented with an equally strong handful of rockstar combat veterans, for a 31 Mile Ruck. The day was full of great stories, a few good beers, and a bit of pain.

This year, we are adding a Memorial Day Ruck for the FIRST TIME! We have significantly shortened the distance so that we can more easily open this opportunity to honor all of our Nation's Service Members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Team Crabtree is dedicated to Daniel Crabtree who gave his life in defense of our Nation on June 8th, 2006 in Iraq at the age of 31. He and his family will forever remain in our hearts and prayers.

REGISTRATION:

Sign up as a participant or family and join us on Monday May 29th 2023 to Ruck for a great cause. As a participant or family group, you can also help us raise money by sharing your participant link with family and friends. Top prize awarded for participant with most contributions raised.

EVENT:

The Ruck begins at 10:00am Monday morning, Memorial Day, with day-of-registration starting at 9:30am. Starting Point and Parking is at the DSISD Administration Building parking lot 510 West Mercer St. Dripping Springs, TX 78620.

ROUTE:

4 Miles - Route to be declassified in the coming weeks :)

WHAT TO PACK:

Wear a backpack, military rucksack, camping pack, etc with any preferred items. Classically, the Army Special Forces wear a Ruck with 50 pounds of equipment during all portions of the Special Forces Qualifications Course. Once on mission, that weight can be well over 100 pounds. HOWEVER...we are much nicer and would love for you to show your support with whatever you want to carry in your bag (weights, sand, an old pillow, a couple stuffed animals, a beach ball, anything).

THE DONATIONS:
100% of all contributions to this event are donated back - Three Rivers Charity Collective keeps nothing and donates alongside all of our participants. We do this because we love it - period. No overhead, no offices, no salaries. This year, TR Charity Collective will donate all contributions to both the Special Forces Charitable Trust and the Dripping Springs Independent School District Athletic Department.

SFCT (60%). The Special Forces Charitable Trust (SFCT) is a 501(c)(3) charity that provides meaningful and sustainable support to the Green Berets, and their Families. The SFCT supports timely, innovative, and comprehensive programs and services designed to enhance the well-being and health of both the Special Forces Soldier and his family. Our goal is to raise the funds necessary to financially and professionally enhance the Command's family resiliency initiatives. Our objective is to support and sustain all programs that enrich the well-being, healthy living, and strong family bonds of a Green Beret Force committed to keeping America safe.

DSISD AD (40%). DSISD Athletics maintains a comprehensive program of athletic activities that expresses their commitment to ensure the development of physical fitness and personal health, the acquisition of competent performances, and the achievement of excellence in the student’s chosen sports. In addition, their aim is to develop a student with an improved self-image, the ability to learn a new skill, and an intrinsic motivation for growth and development. They want to see a student who will demonstrate a willingness to accept responsibility for his/her actions, measure him/herself against standards of quality, express ideas and solutions to problems, and value fair play, honesty, and cooperation.
