Nicholas Dotin and his lovely wife Gay were as nervous as a couple of long tail cats in a room full of rockin' chairs when they decided to open the original Mercer Street Dancehall in historic downtown Dripping Springs in February of 2013.

While no longer located at the location in downtown Dripping Springs, Gay and Nick Dotin have moved their beloved Mercer Street Dancehall to a more rural destination where the authentic dancehall tradition continues on. In November of 2018, the Dotins re-opened the doors of a bigger and better dancehall in a new location on Ranch Road 12, just a few miles South of Dripping Springs.

The beer is still cold, maybe even colder, and folks are still two-stepping to the sweet sounds of some of the finest honky-tonk bands in Texas.

Years of experience in the music and event planning world and the perfect combination of skills have created a cultural landmark in Dripping Springs that is loved and respected by many.

Come shuffle, scoot or twirl across the polished wood floors of this family run hall and have the time of your life. Don’t take it from us though, take a look at what these fine musicians have to say about Mercer Street Dancehall:

“Best Honky Tonk in Central Texas!”

- Jimmie Vaughan

"Mercer Street Dance Hall is all Texas, real Texas. There is nothing about this place you won't like. The location is cool, the folks are fabulous and the music is world-famous. A dance at Mercer Street is what Texas is all about."

- Cornell Hurd

"Mercer Street is exactly what Dripping Springs has been needing. An authentic Texas dance hall. Love This Place!"

- Kevin Fowler

"Mercer Street Dancehall is my favorite new hall because it feels like an old one 'cept cooler - it's got a pretty good A/C..."

- Doug Moreland

"Mercer Street Dancehall is way overdue in Dripping Springs. The atmosphere they have created is just great and the diversity of music they offer will have something for almost everyone. It's now one of my favorite places to play and I hope to have a long standing relationship with them down the road"

- Michael Myers

"I was honored to play opening night at Mercer Street Dance Hall. As soon as I stepped through the door it felt like Texas and I fell in love with the place! Mercer Street Dancehall reminds me of the great places that I grew up two stepping in! Nick took a Barn and turned it into a Texas Dance Hall. Now that's the Texas thing to do and the place has the fun lovin' staff to back up the Texas feel I am bragging about!"

- Tracie Lynn

"Not only does Mercer Street have an amazing setup both inside and out, the sound is great, both the crowd and the staff are always friendly and the beer is always cold. Needless to say, every night at Mercer Street is a party for everyone who loves a classic Texas Dancehall!"

- Tessy Lou Williams
