Dripping Springs is a beautiful and quaint city year-round, but add holiday lights, cheer and mistletoe and you've got a vacation you won't easily forget. In addition to the year-round sites—olive orchard tours, hiking at Hamilton Pool,wine, beer or spirits tastings, world-class restaurants—that make Dripping Springs special, here are a few just-for-the-holiday highlights in town.

First, you’ll need to get some sustenance - try some Texas favorites like our world-famous BBQ. Dripping Springs loves food, and its hospitality and charm seasons the dishes popular to this region. Enjoy the Holiday Lights and Sights ALL SEASON LONG

Stroll down Mercer Street with a hot cocoa (or a stronger libation) in hand, admire the majestic oaks wrapped in lights, and stop and shop at the historic buildings adorned with holiday lights. Don’t forget to take your Christmas photo at the holiday themed picture frame in front of Mazama Coffee Company.

Looking for somewhere to stay while partaking in the merriment of the season? Discover a new bed and breakfast favorite while touring 7 gorgeous B&Bs on the Christmas Bed & Breakfast Tour of Dripping Springs. Exquisite architecture, beautiful furnishings, and gracious hospitality are all part of Dripping Springs’ first Christmas Bed & Breakfast Tour scheduled for December 14. This intimate tour experience allows guests to look “behind the doors” at stunning examples of Dripping Springs’ finest places to stay and holiday home décor.

Get to Know Christmas on Mercer

Looking for holiday events the whole family will love? Check out the holiday happenings at Christmas on Mercer! The downtown area transforms into a hometown holiday festival featuring holiday shopping, arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, a petting zoo, trackless train, pony rides, children’s activities and more. Santa Claus will make a grand appearance at 10 am and there will be opportunities for parents to take photos of their children with him at Santa’s Workshop on Mercer Street.

The annual Lighting of the Tree will be held at the Triangle (also known as Veterans Memorial Park at E. Mercer Street, Ranch Road 12, and Hwy 290) at dusk. Christmas on Mercer takes place on December 7th from 10 am-5 pm and is free to attend.

A Pioneer Christmas

Another family favorite is A Pioneer Christmas at the Pound Farmstead - Enjoy holiday happenings like the Pound family would have in 1854! Explore the holiday customs from the late 1800s – take photos with Santa by the covered wagon, listen to Christmas stories, enjoy old fashioned make-and-take ornament crafts, see the house decorated for the holidays & enjoy holiday treats! December 8th from 9 am – 3 pm.

Artisan fairs and Holiday Shopping in Dripping Springs

The garland is hung, and the Christmas trees are up! The shops and boutiques scattered throughout the city are perfect for finding holiday gifts and souvenirs. There is also a handful of pop-up artisan markets taking place during the holiday season that are ideal for locating that perfect gift including handmade items, decor, art, jewelry, beauty, customized items and much more!
